Ypresian (SBZ5-12)

 
SBZ 12 (late Cuisian)
Defined by the biostratigraphic range of : Alveolina violae, A. rakoveci, A. azzaro/ii, A. cuspidata, Nummulites manfredi, N. angularis, N. campesinus, N. quasilaevigatus, N. formosus, N. caupennensis, Assilina maior and Ass. Cuvillieri. The lower boundary is located in the middle of Chron 22n according to the integration of data from Bentham and Burbank [1996] and Tosquella et aI., [1990]. SBZ12 is located within NP14 [Kapellos and Schaub, 1973; Schaub, 1981] and P9 [Cavelier and Pomerol, 1986].

SBZ 11 (Middle Cuisian)
Defined by the biostratigraphic range of: Alveolina dainellii,A. aff. canavarii, A. histrica histrica, A. decastroi, A. cremae, Nummulites praelaevigatus, N. burdigalensis cantabricus, N. kapeliosi, N. escheri, N. nitidus, N. archiaci, Assilina laxispira and Discocyclina fortisi simferopolensis. The lower boundary is located in the uppermost part of Chron 22r, practically coinciding with the base of Chron 23.1n, according to the integration of data from Bentham and Burbank [1996] and Tosquella et al. [1990]. SBZll corresponds to NP13 and the lower part of NP14 [Kapellos and Schaub, 1973; Schaub, 1981], and to P8 and P9 [Hillebrandt, 1975 in Tambareau, 1994; Cavelier and Pomerol, 1986].

SBZ 10 (early Cuisian)
Defined by the biostratigraphic range of: Alveolina schwageri, A. indicatrix, A. canavarii, A. haymanensis, A. cosinensis cosinensis, A. minuta, Nummulites planulatus, N. aquitanicus, N. burdigalensis burdigalensis, N. subramondi thalmanni, N. rotularius, N. pavloveci, N. subdistans, Assilina plana, Ass. placentula, Ass. aspensis, Ass. karreri, Ass. escheri and Discocyclina archiaci archiaci. The lower boundary is located at the lower part of Chron 24.1r, near the top of Chron 24.1 n, according to the integration of data from Bentham and Burbank [1996] and Tosquella et al. [1990]. SBZI0 corresponds to NP12 [Kapellos and Schaub, 1973; Schaub, 1981; Serra-Kiel et al., 1994], and to P6b of Berggren et al. [1995] [= P6c of Berggren and Miller, 1988], and P7 [Molina et aI., 1992; Serra-Kiel et aI., 1994].

SBZ 9 (late Ilerdian)
Defined by the biostratigraphic range of: Alveolina trempina, A. citrea, A. polatliensis, Nummulites involutus, Assilina adrianensis and Ass. pomeroli. The lower boundary is located at Chron 24.2r [Molina et al., 1992; Serra-Kiel et al., 1994]. SBZ9 corresponds to the upper part of NP 11 and the lower part of NP12 [Kapellos and Schaub, 1973;Schaub, 1981; Molina et al., 1992; Serra-Kiel et al., 1994], and to P6b of Berggren et al. [1995] [= P6c of Berggren and Miller, 1988] according to Molina et al. [1992] and Serra-Kiel et al. [1994].

SBZ 8 (Middle Ilerdian 2)
Defined by the biostratigraphic range of : Alveolina corbirica, A. recondita, A. brassica, Nummulites exilis, N. atacicus, N. globulus nanus, N. globulus latior,  Assilina leymeriei and Ass. canalifera. The. lower boundary is located at the lower part of Chron 24:3r [Molina et al., 1992; Serra-Kiel et aI., 1994]. The lower part of the biozone rides the P6a-P6b boundary of Berggren et al. [1995] [= P6b-Pc of Berggren and Miller, 1988] according to Molina et al [1992] and Serra-Kiel et al. [1994]. SBZ8 corresponds to the upper part of NP10 and to NP11 [KapeIlos and Schaub 1973; Schaub, 1981].

SBZ 7 (Middle Ilerdian 1)
Defined by the biostratigraphic range of: Alveolina moussoulensis, A. subpyrenaica, A. dedolia, A. laxa, Nummulites robustiformis, N. carcasonensis, N. praecursoT, N. oblaticus, Assilina arenensis and Orbitoclypeus schopeni neumannae. The lower boundary is located in the upper part of  Chron 24.3r [Molina et al., 1992; Serra-Kiel et al., 1994]. The lower part of the biozone rides the P5-P6a boundary of Berggren et al. [1995] [= P6a-P6b of Berggren and Miller, 1988]. SBZ7 corresponds to the upper part of NP9 and the lower and middle part of NPlO [Molina et aI., 1992; Serra-Kiel et aI., 1994].

SBZ 6 (early Ilerdian 2)
Defined by the biostratigraphic range of: Alveolina ellipsoidalis, A. daniensis, A. pasticillata, A. solida and Nummulites minervensis. Lower boundary located in the upper part of Chron 24.3r [Molina et aI., 1992; Serra-Kiel et al., 1994]. The biozone is located within NP9 [Molina et al., 1992; Serra-Kiel et al., 1994] and P5 of Berggren et al. [1995] [= P6a of Berggren and Miller, 1988] according to Molina et al. [1992], and Serra-Kiel et al. [1994].

SBZ 5 (early Ilerdian 1)
Defined by the biostratigraphic range of: Orbitolites gracilis,Daviesina tenuis, Alveolina vredenburgi, A. avellana avel/ana, A. aramaea aramaea, A. varians, Nummulites gamardensis, Assilina dandotica and Ass. prisca. The lower boundary practically coincides with the base of Chron 25n [Molina et al., 1992; Serra-Kiel et al., 1994]. The biozone is located within P5 [Hillebrandt, 1965 in Schaub, 1969; Robador et al., 1991; Pujalte et al:, 1994], and NP9 [Kapellos and Schaub, 1973; Molina et al., 1992; Serra-Kiel et aI., 1994; Tambareau, 1994].
